Centrality of the Cross
Our philosophy of education is based upon the Holy Scriptures as the Word of God and centres on Jesus Christ to whom all Scriptures bear witness. The primary purpose of our school is to provide the opportunity for students to find identity, meaning, purpose and power for their life in Christ by growing in grace and in their knowledge of Him as their Lord and Saviour. Faith in Christ finds fruitful expression in life: therefore Christian education is designed to help students live out that view of life in unselfish Christian service in their world. In our Christian school students are encouraged to develop their God-given talents and abilities so that they may be equipped as people of faith and action.
The role of the staff in the school is to minister to the students and, in a sense, to their families. Such a ministry requires spiritually mature and academically qualified staff members who are continually open to the Word of the Holy Spirit.
In this Lutheran school setting we view all knowledge and learning as potential channels of God's power and grace. The curriculum of the Calvary Lutheran Primary School is determined by the requirements of the Registrations Board for Non-Government Schools of South Australia, by the requirements of complex and changing society and by the needs and interests of the individual students under the Spirit and Gospel of Christ.
